As Basque political prisoner they have the right to communicate in the Basque language with their relatives and friends, and even when they demand something or they treat with the prison staff.

Nowadays, however, because of this policy of dispersal, besides being forced to live in a Spanish environment, they are also very often punished for using the Basque language. So, letters, magazines, books... in Basque language are received much later or sometimes even forbidden.
